Jaime's Cancer Story
Donation protected
On October 13, 2017, my dear cousin Jaime Gleason-Harriman, newly married and with a 7 month old baby, was rushed to the ER by her husband who had returned from deployment that same day. She was experiencing severe neck pain after bumping her head at work. Through MRI and CT scans doctors discovered a compression fracture on her C-5 vertebrae. It was only after the surgery to remove the vertebrae that doctors began to voice concerns about the potential for cancer. After numerous exams, blood draws and scans that she was given, a diagnosis of an aggressive form of stage IV breast cancer that has spread to the spine. As we learn more about her diagnosis and treatment plan, our entire family is still in shock.
Up until now she has gone through several weeks of radiation and is currently going through 12 weeks of intensive chemotherapy after which doctors will re-evaluate. Needless to say, the coming months will be a challenge and she needs our support.
While medical bills continue to grow, Jaime has been unable to work and is only receiving short-term disability which, unfortunately does not provide her full pay.
For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary person who is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always putting others first.
Now is our opportunity to give back to Jaime. Besides thoughts and prayers, generosity in the form of donations you can send her way would be greatly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love will allow her to focus on fighting this horrible cancer.
Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
