Jae's Awareness Fund

Raising awareness for impaired and distracted driving in Honor of Jaelyn! 

Our goal for new funds raised will be for events honoring Jae, for her Momma, and for any cost accumulated for court dates. We are also planning to make a monetary donation to the cosmo dept at Union Co High School. 

We appreciate everyone's generosity thus far and we can not put into words how much this means to our family! 

Here's our story. Our Daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend Jaelyn Collins was in an accident with her best friend on June 27. Due to one man making a selfish decision to drive while impaired And texting on top of that we have lost our Jae. And Ashton is still in the hospital and will remain there for another little bit, where she will then go to a rehab facility to relearn so many basic functions. These 2 girls didn't deserve this. Their families don't deserve to be grieving such a tremendous loss and having to see a young girl fight for her life! Between funeral/burial, surgery after surgery, trying to adjust to life without our precious Jae, trying to adjust to life in and out of the hospital talking to doctors, nurses, surgeons, rehab facilities,  insurance companies, lawyers, the list goes on and on of all we are fighting on the daily! Now, this man isn't the only one to ever make this mistake, to text while driving, to drink and drive, we know this. However, we want people to wake up and see, that text, it can wait. The phone call can wait. Drank one too many? Make a phone call. Didn't realize you had one too many til you got on the road? That's okay, but pull over, make a call from a parked vehicle. There are always consequences for your actions and decisions! Just make the smart one. Choose to make a call, don't put yourself at risk, or heaven forbid someone's child in the line of your ignorance! 

We are also beginning to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, we want to make big impacts! So that people and families don't have to suffer the loss of innocent lives! If you can't join our cause help us along the way! Make the smart choice, pray for people, and be there if you're the one to receive a pick up call!
