On Saturday, December 2nd we were hit with the devestating news that our beloved Jacob Hasselbach has a brain tumor.
Jacob has been living his dream of teaching in South Korea for over the past 9 years. And in those years he has found love in his wife Eunice and his two children, Jio and Yena. So the news of this terrible disease has been quite the shock to the family, to say the least.
Intial scans show that Jacob has a mass in the right frontal lobe of his brain causing paralysis on his left side and speech impairment. A full diagnosis of the type of tumor will not be complete until surgery is performed. As of right now surgery is scheduled for Friday, December 15th. Following resection Jacob will most likely have to endure many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. With all this will come the mounds of medical expenses and the struggle to make ends meet without Jacob bringing in an income. We hope that by raising at least $20000 we will be able to help cover some of the medical bills and daily living expenses.
