Jacob is a very active 17 year old boy that is going to be a senior at The King's Academy.  He is committed to play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Albany beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.    Last week he started to experience pain in his neck.  He went to the Jupiter Hospital ER to get checked out as the pain increased to the point where he began to experience numbness in his fingers.  Upon his arrival at the hospital the doctors decided to do an MRI where they detected a mass located directly on his spine.  He was immediately transferred to St. Marys Hospital where a Neurosurgeon performed emergency surgery on Wednesday, June 10th.  It was a 6 hour surgery that allowed the surgeon to remove most but not all of the mass.  The mass was sent to a pathologist to be tested but the Webbs have been told it could be 2-5 weeks before they receive the results of the testing.   He has been in the PICU at St. Mary's since his surgery doing PT many times each day.  His biggest milestone to date happened today when he was able to go from his bed to a chair.  Before today he had not gotten out of his bed since his surgery.  He was moved to a regular room this afternoon but will remain in the hospital for at least another 10-14 days. After leaving the hospital it is likely he will need to be moved to an inpatient rehab facility until he regains some mobility on his own.  As you can imagine this is a parent's worst nightmare.  The outpouring of love, support and prayers for the family have been incredible and mean the world to them as they walk through this tremendously difficult trial.  As you can imagine the hospital bills continue to pile up and this is without a knowledge of what treatments and therapies might be needed in the near future.  The Webb family has a strong faith in the Lord and they are confident that He will heal Jacob fully.  This campaign has been created to help some offset some of the mounting medical costs.  The family is so appreciative of all prayers and support you can offer to them.  Thank you for loving Jacob and the Webb family.
