Jacob Brodeur's New car!

Donation protected
Tldr; **NOTE: This is a surprise! Please don't let Jacob know! :)** Jacob turns 26 this year and we want to make this a birthday that will be remembered forever. We hope to raise $5000 for him to get a new car because he really needs one. If you can afford to spare a few dollars for this beloved man, that would be awesome. In either case, please leave a comment, share a story or anything you like and we’ll share it with him on his birthday!

“I believe that Jesus would have given His life for just one person. Jesus emptied Himself, He humbled Himself and He so yielded Himself to His Father's love that He had no ambition of His own. He was not looking to build an empire, He did not want praise or adulation or to impress people with who or how many followed Him. He stopped over and over again for just one person, for just one life.”
-- Heidi Baker

Is Jacob Jesus? No. No, I don’t think so… Although, wait… Their names do both begin with J, so that’s interesting. They both are willing to sacrifice their lives for one person, but that’s probably just coincidence. There is no greed or dishonesty in either of them. No pride. Just kind eyes, filled to the brim with love, sympathy, and happiness. Jacob is not Jesus reborn, but he carries His spirit and spreads that same light wherever he treads.

All throughout his life, whether he was living in San Francisco, Redding, Arroyo Grande, or any place in between, Jacob has always worked tirelessly to make sure the community of whatever people are around him feel loved, accepted, and supported at a moments notice.

He is a safe place for those who feel they have nowhere else to go. He is an all inclusive party and makes any simple thing fun for everyone around him. The ultimate optimist while still recognizing the darkness of the world and instead of that weighing him down he chooses to take action towards filling that darkness with light.

He really has created the most beautiful life which he selflessly shares, with one constant problem: his car.

A few years ago Jacob was working long hours saving up money to buy his dream car outright. After months he finally saved up the money and made his dream come true. An unfortunate situation happened shortly after where a friend accidentally destroyed the car’s engine and as a result, the car was totaled. He had already spent his savings on that car so the only option he had was to buy a cheap car that could just get him from point a to point b.

Fast forward a few years and this is still his car now. His driver door doesn’t open and he has to crawl through his passenger side to drive. It is loud, rickety, undependable and he flat out will just walk to work some days to avoid driving it.

For someone who has given so much of himself to improve the lives of others, we decided to set up this fundraiser and reach out to the people who love him so that all of us together can give him something that would drastically improve his life.

My wonderful brother Gabriel and I are chasing a dream to give him something for his birthday that he has needed for so long: a working car. Any amount will help us meet our goal to surprise him on his birthday next month. Gabriel and I have already raised $1000 and are excited for any other money we can add to that to give him the most awesome car.

Whether or not you can afford to give any money, we would be very grateful if you could take a second and share a story of how Jacob has impacted your life and maybe a word of encouragement for this new year.
