Jackson in Toronto

Jackson Twain, just shy of 4 years old (September 4th) has been sick for two weeks now. He first spent one full week in Sudbury, then was quickly sent to Sick Kid’s Hospital in Toronto when they could not give them the answers to his medical issues. Upon his arrival in Toronto, he was quickly assessed; he was quickly rushed into surgery where they removed part of a tumor wrapped around his spine to relieve pain, to hopefully regain function of his bowels and urinary tract, and regain function of his legs which have also been affected. The surgery went well, but it’s still a waiting game for them, unfortunately. The doctors have said that it is cancer, but he is to have an MRI to determine what is still left of the cancer. He is now to undergo treatment which will take place in Toronto at Sick Kids. Treatment will be 2 weeks or more at least, but they will know more once they get some answers about what kind of cancer they are dealing with, and how aggressive it is. Mom, Kayla Ledzwa, who is dealing with all this through a high risk pregnancy, and Dad Robert Twain have been with him, but mom must return to Sudbury to care for her two other children, and will be travelling back and forth. We all know what the cost of travel is, what the cost of accommodations are, we just want to help this young family and this little man get through this, and welcome them all home very soon. Mom and Dad call him “Champ” for a reason……..Get well quick “super hero”! His spirits have not been affected too much, he apparently is being driven around the hallways, always happy; he’s even singing to his nurses. Much love to him and his entire family.
