Jack's Last Memories

Donation protected
I am Jack Wells, I am 23 years old and I was diagnosed with cancer on the 11th March 2015 at the age of 22, with the doctors assuming it was either a type of Sarcoma or Lymphoma i went an had a biopsy in Stanmore 2 weeks later then had numerious scans and after 5 weeks of waiting and hoping for the best it turned out to be worst they had told me I had matatsic Ewing's Sarcoma which is a very rare bone cancer that had spread.

It started in my right shoulder and went down the bone of my right arm then a tumor had grown out of my shouder, then other scans and tests had proven to get worse when the doctors had turned round and had a meeting a day before I was due to arrive in the UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre, I met with a professor and he explained to me that it was incurable and that it had spread to other bones and it had badly affected my lungs, pelvis and I was told that they could only do so much for me (treatment-wise) and eventually it would take over and win.

I have a little girl (2 years old) to look after and take care of and at the moment she does not understand what is happening to her dad. I want to make sure that I can support her and give her the best time while I am here.

The primary tumour was in his right shoulder blade but unfortunately has spread to other bones such as his spine and pelvis and also his lungs. The doctors have told Jack his disease is terminal and will mean his life span will be limited.

Jacks treatment began in early 2015, he underwent a year of chemo which involved horrific side effects including sickness, mouth blisters, hair loss and pain. He responded well to chemotherapy but unfortunately his tumours have recently become active and have starting growing again causing his a lot of pain and discomfort. Jack also had 3 full weeks of radiotherapy to his right shoulder blade which is his primary site of the disease, and then will be starting chemotherapy to try and treat the recurring tumours. But after going back on chemothearapy, the doctors have now told jack that theres nothing else they can do for him now, and that there just moths left to everythung now.

Through all the trials and challenges life has thrown at Jack he has managed to stay positive and keep on going. He is admired for his bravery and always manages to bring laughter and smiles wherever he goes. Jack is determined to achieve his dreams and not let this disease hold him back from what he wants to do. With the help of his friends and family too he wants to complete his bucket list and make some amazing memories with his 2 year old daughter too.

We are hoping to raise money for Jack and his daughter to help stabilise her future for if Jack is not around anymore. The money will go towards his daughters education and enable her to do things she would like to do without financial limitations.

Although doctors have told Jack his prognosis is terminal that hasn't stopped him from fighting, his family and friends are all here supporting him and we will carry on making as much memories as we can for jack.
