Jackie's Medical Fund/Assistance

Donation protected
We're starting a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses for our amazing friend Jackie who is a loving mother of two young children. On Sunday, July 23rd she had a seizure in the car while on her way to the hospital to treat the constant headaches she had been having. Once she and Scott arrived at the hospital it was discovered that the seizure was caused by an aneurysm. Jackie was taken by Life Flight to the U of M in Minneapolis. Once arriving, the testing began and while determining the best course of treatment and waiting for the head of neuro she had a dilation change in her pupils. They found she had another aneurysm and it had ruptured. She was rushed into emergency surgery to perform a craniotomy and clip the aneurysm.

Although risky, the surgery was imperative and saving her life and preventing a third, and potentially fatal aneurysm from occurring. During surgery Jackie suffered from cardiac arrest and the medical team was able to administer CPR and revive her.

In the short three days Jackie has been in the hospital her body, mind and soul have been through SO much. She's a fighter and we know she will continue to fight for her life with every fiber of her being. With that being said, she has an extremely long road ahead of her. The doctors expect her to be in ICU for at least 3 weeks. She is still on a ventilator which is helping her to breathe and each and every day is going to be a fight.

Scott has not left her side and while she has the emotional support of all her friends and family the medical expenses are mounting. Anyone that knows Jackie and Scott knows they are both extremely hard-working, proud individuals that would never ask for help financially. Jackie believes in working for what you have and she's been known to work two or three jobs at a time to provide for her family. The only thing she can work on at the moment is fighting for her life. The financial burden her family will face from her loss of income may be devastating. Since we know they would never ask for help we are asking for them.

In addition to the medical costs there are also travel and lodging expenses. Jackie, Scott and Jackie's too young children live in a small town in Northern Minnesota that did not have the medical team to treat her so she had to be transferred to a hospital 200 miles away from home. Scott is able to use what little vacation time he has left but once that has been depleted he will have to travel the 200 miles one way several times a week. The expenses related to food lodging and even coffee for the sleepless nights is going to be adding up.

The only thing we want on Jackie's mind is recovering, the only thing Scott should have to be worried about right now is being there for Jackie. Medical debt and other expenses should be the last thing either of them have to worry about at this time.

We, as Jackie's lifelong friends and family are asking for your help. Each and every dollar helps. One dollar can provide a bottle of water for the kids that have been in the waiting room all night, 2 bucks can provide Scott the cup of coffee he needs to stay up another 3 hours while waiting for test results or to see if a change has occured after a medication switch. Any little bit will help. Even if you're not able to donate please share, send your love, positive energy or prayers. Jackie and her friends and family need it now more than ever.

We will post updates and we have them. Thank you all!
