Medical Expenses for the Rehrers

Chris and Sierra always dream of living a “not normal” life, picturing a life overseas or being a part of radical ministry on the island of O’ahu, their current home. When the news came that Sierra was pregnant with her first child, there was so much excitement at the thought of a new addition to the family joining in on this extraordinary life. Baby Jack Rehrer was soon after diagnosed with an extreme case of Spina Bifida, effecting his spine and brain. It is predicted that he will not be able to walk or feel sensation below his waist, it’s heartbreaking to imagine this condition hindering his ability to live life to the fullest. For months Chris and Sierra have made huge efforts to get the best help they can for Jack, traveling for medical advice, appointments, and prayer. They’ve already experienced God’s intercession in their journey through answered prayers and miraculous provision. They are now in Boston acting on the incredible opportunity to see Dr. Benjamin Warf, a pediatric neurosurgeon who is the best in his practice. Baby Jack may have to spend his first three months in NICU before returning home to Hawai’i, which of course adds to the many medical and traveling expenses.
