Jack Donoghue's Memorial Walk

In Light of raising awareness for knife crime, a group of Jacks close family and friends are completing a charity walk from Popworld Solihull to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool taking place from 30th January to 1st February taking 3 days, walking 110 Miles! Jack tragically lost his life outside of Popworld in Solihull on 30th November 2019 and Anfield stadium is the home stadium of Liverpool FC the team Jack and his family have supported for years. Jack had turned 21 only weeks before his life was taken, he was enjoying a night out in Solihull Town Centre when he left the club to come home Jack was confronted by 4 males who attacked him and when they realised Jack wasn’t going down as easy as they thought a knife was pulled and used. Jack was stabbed only once but only once is all it takes which is one of the many reasons we are trying to raise awareness. On 7th December the 4 thugs were sentenced in Birmingham Crown Court where only 1 of them was sentenced with murder and the other 3 given man slaughter sentences. Knife crime in the UK has seen a huge increase in fatalities with there being an 80% increase of offences from March 2014 to March 2019. Anyone with a heart can see this is just not right and something needs to be done! Jack is and will forever be missed by his family, friends and many people all around the world. He was so brave and fought for his life right until the very end. Jack was the type of person everyone wanted to be around, he had the most infectious smile that non of us will forget. He loved his life and most importantly he loved his family and his friends he pleaded with the paramedics to save his life so he could come home to his mom Anne his dad David and his sister Eleanor. None of them got the opportunity to say goodbye. All funds raised will be split equally, half going to a charity of the families choice and the other half going towards Jacks memorial.
