Jace vs Blood Cancer

Donation protected

On December 7th, 2020, Jace was unexpectedly diagnosed with T CELL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. T CELL ALL is a rare progressively growing cancer that starts in the white blood cells within the bone marrow. This particular cancer invades the blood and has the potential to spread to other organs.

At the time of his diagnosis, Jace was only 3 years old. Jace looked forward to going to preschool everyday. He loved creating art with his classmates and teachers.  He was always so active, running, jumping, playing sports and riding his big boy scooter. Jace loved to play video games with his older cousins. He enjoyed going to water parks his older sisters, helping mommy at the supermarket and going to the barbershop with daddy. He has always been determined, strong willed, funny and eager to learn new things.

The most heartbreaking part of all of this is Jace has no idea he is literally fighting for his life.  He doesn’t understand why he can’t do most of the activities he loved doing or why were always at the hospital. He’s mostly tired, has discomfort and spends most of his time resting. One thing is certain, he is a brave warrior and a real life superhero. Our family is shocked, devastated and still trying to process our new reality. We are trying our best to cope with this life changing news and the challenges that come along with it. We have no idea what each day will bring but we are hopeful Jace will make a full recovery. Always keeping love and faith at the forefront.

All raised funds will go towards inpatient medical bills, transportation, outpatient maintenance and home care necessities.

Backstory: Prior to his official diagnosis, Jace developed swollen lymph nodes in his neck and a mass in his chest obstructing his airways making it difficult for him to breathe. On Thanksgiving Day,  we brought Jace to a hospital in New York. He was admitted with several misdiagnosed medical conditions. After two days we were released, despite no improvements to his condition. Eventually his symptoms worsened so we decided to take him to another doctor in New York, for a second opinion. We scheduled him to see a Pediatrician in Manhattan. When we arrived, he was turned away. Uncertain of the unknown and desperate to find an answer we thought finding a hospital outside of NY was our best option. We brought him to Morristown Medical Center which is about a little over an hour away from our home. A team of Oncologists at Morristown Medical Center made the official diagnosis. We have been taking Jace there for his treatment to fight this cancer ever since. Under Jaces current medical insurance, we are responsible for part of the medical bills. These medical bills are extremely expensive. To make matters worse, the same week of his diagnosis, I was let go from my employer. The duration of his treatment remains unknown at this time, but we are confident he is receiving the best medical care.
