Serving in the Cape Verde

Hello Friends! In John 15:16-17 Jesus says, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you  so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other." 

God has placed in my heart to spend my first year out of high school to go and bear fruit. The original plan was to spend nine months with Global Year in the Dominican Republic. However, the plans changed and Global Year decided not to go this year. Instead, God opened the door to Cape Verde, a group of islands off the Northwest coast of Africa. It is a beautiful country with a people who don't know Jesus. While there, we will be working with a children's ministry called Projecto Pepe, and going into villages to share the gospel with people who have never heard it before. When originally committing to this trip, I gave all my plans to God, and it looks like Cape Verde is where he wants me.
