Stormy's Stronger Than The Storm

Stormy is a 2 year old Italian Greyhound mix I adopted in January of 2014. She was abused by her first owner and her foster dad said she had a shy, but quirky personality. She just needed time... Over the course of the last year I've come to understand what he meant. Stormy has blossomed into a quirky, sweet, and loving life kind of dog. She still can be timid and scared of new people, but loves to be pet and cuddled by all.
On Sunday December 21st while visiting my family for the holidays Stormy ran out my parent's front door. She was missing for 48 hours and they were the worst 48 hours of my life. On Tuesday December 23 she was found by a local police department after getting hit by a car. She is currently at a vet hospital being treated for her injuries. These injuries include the amputation for her left rear leg.
My resilient little pup somehow managed to only get away with minor scrapes and bruises everywhere else, but the one injury she has is quite expensive. Any and all donations are appreciated as I recognize this is a crazy time of year for everyone. In the end I am happy Storms will be back home with me and that's the best Christmas gift of all.
Update:
Surgery went well yesterday. Unfortunately during surgery prep they realized Stormy had also torn her ACL in her right rear leg. Both this new injury and the left leg amputation occurred during the same surgery. She is now in recovery and the report from the vet is she is doing well for a dog who has been through so much. She is adjusting to walking with a harness and learning to function to her new way of life. And in typical Stormy fashion, she even was happy to see her morning vet this morning
