Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  My name is David Sassounian and I am making this page for a dear friend of mine.  His name is Francis James Freeman.  Many of you may have met or seen Francis at HRock Church or locally in Pasadena.

On May 4th 2005 Francis was a victim of a drive by shooting in Los Angeles, as a hallow point bullet pierced the right side of his face.  Francis was not with anyone at the time and had no gang affliation, but the result of the attack was complete blindness, as the hollow point bullet destroyed both eyes.  In the midst of the shooting Francis yelled out "help me Lord Jesus, help me Lord Jesus."  Within 1 second a complete stranger came to his aide.  Francis didn't know where the person came from or where they went, and he never found out who the person was, who so suddenly appeared.

For the past 9 years, Francis has been living on the streets.  He scarcely survives by  slim governmental assistance and through the kindness of strangers.  As you could imagine  not being able to see has posed several challenges for Francis.  As he has continued to live his life one of the biggest obstacles he has faced is simple but difficult...trusting people.  Trusting people not to harm, steal, lie & cheat him are just a few of the hurdles he is overcoming.  Not being able to see and living on the street has taking a toll on him physically, mentally and spiritually.

I met Francis in 2009 as I was waking through Old Town Pasadena.  He actually approached me, and asked if I could get him something to eat.  I agreed and didn't realized that moment would create a lasting friendship, and change both of our lives.

Over the past year Francis has been actively attending church, and the results have been exceptionally encouraging.  His attitude, outlook on life and spirit have vastly come alive.  He is on the right tract, and making good decisions.  Many people from the church have blessed him with meals, clothing, gifts, prayer, finances and so much more.  The thing that really blesses Francis, is when one of you reaches out to him whether at church and you give him a hug or see him in Pasadena and simple stop to say hi.  His life is being radically changed daily by the love that is being displayed to him.  So thank you, you know who you are.

Now we come to the practical need.  Francis has no place to live yet. He spends 2 weeks out of the month in a low end motel, and 2 weeks on the street.  I desire for Francis to have his own apartment, where he can feel safe, be at peace, and finally rest... a place of his own.   For the past year I have personally given of my own finances to try and make a better life for him.  I cannot do it alone and need your help.  Please join me as we raise money to get Francis his own apartment in Pasadena.

We are praying for Gods healing touch to completely restore his eyes and for him to see again.  I believe with all my heart God wants to heal him!  Until that day comes when his sight is restored, I need your help.  Would you please consider donating and partnering with me to help just one person this Christmas season?
That God would use a monetary item to do a supernatural work in one man.

$18,000 would cover the cost of living for an entire year.  This may seem like a lot of money but to break it down it's 75 people donating just $20 per month.  This way it's affordable for every person who wishes to help.

Thank you  for your consideration, and we are thankful for anything you give.  Thank you in advance as we practically display the love of God to one another.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & GOD BLESS YOU THIS NEW YEAR!!!

As as encouraging word for all of you to receive:

"2015 is a year of reconciliation."

Best,
David Sassounian
