Please consider supporting the costs of mediation with Mars Hill Church.
We have received an offer of $40,000 in matching funds from an anonymous donor to help pay the costs of mediation, and to file and pursue the lawsuit if necessary.
ANY CONTRIBUTION TO THIS MEDIATION FUND WILL BE MATCHED.
A group of former Mars Hill Church members and donors are pursuing mediation with Mars Hill Church to accomplish a number of goals: full financial transparency, an acknowledgment of and some form of restitution for those harmed by Mars Hill, the release of the Board of Elders investigative report of the charges against the former Mars Hill pastor, Mark Driscoll, and an acknowledgment that Driscoll was found to be disqualified.
The group’s attorney, Brian Fahling, has prepared a RICO lawsuit filing based on issues of misappropriation of funds designated for specific purposes. Church leaders will be given 24 hours to respond before the lawsuit is filed.
Mars Hill previously indicated a desire to resolve the issues through mediation, but asked to see the RICO filing first. We will be prepared to file the lawsuit, but we agree mediation is preferable and are hopeful the parties can come to agreement quickly.
You can donate to this GoFundMe account or if you wish to send a check directly to one of the parties in this matter, you can make it out to Rob Smith or Brian Jacobsen, and include a note on the memo line indicating it is for the Mars Hill mediation matter.

In addition, any remaining funds would be used to help defend any ex-employee who is sued by Mars Hill Church for violating the terms of their non-disclosure agreement.
Once all matters are settled, any remaining balance in this fund will be shared between the advertised recipients of the Mars Hill Global Fund (Ethiopian and Indian pastors).
[Please note that this is to raise funds to pay the mediation and legal costs that are being incurred in resolving grievances with Mars Hill Church. It is not intended to be a fundraiser for anything else. But there may be funds left over, and if so they will be distributed as above.]
