Education for new career

Since the pandemic shut down my job, I discovered through beta reading for writers that I LOVE helping writers improve their manuscripts even more than I love writing my own work.

UCLA extension program offers a certification course on Developmental Editing for $700. Since I've been furloughed from my job since mid-March, money has gotten tight and continues to get tighter.  Being sedentary a great deal of the time writing at my laptop has weakened my back and shoulders and put a painful strain on my neck. Returning to massage therapy as a career may not be possible anymore, and it's work I enjoyed.

The course is taught by literary agent Quressa Robinson and covers everything I'll need to know to competently identify weaknesses in fiction manuscripts. Class size is limited to 15, so I'll get individualized attention.

The writers I've helped so far have raved about my ability to get "inside their character's heads". I'd love the chance to build on that ability and help more writers.

Any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated.
