Shane Marie Cavagnaro: To know her is to love her.
First and foremost, Shane is a wonderful mother to her darling 5-year old daughter, Dianna. Dianna is not only an inspiration to her mother, she’s also an inspiration to all who meet her. She’s outgoing, sweet, compassionate and loves to dance. Dianna definitely gets her outgoing, sweet and compassionate nature from her mother.
Shane has overcome many obstacles in her life. She has lost her beloved mother, father and grandmother. Yet, she continues to be an amazingly positive force, not only in her own life but also in the lives of others who are suffering a hardship. Many times, she has put others’ suffering above her own. Shane's compassion for people is enormous! She would literally do anything in her power to help others.
Shane was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and she has been undergoing chemotherapy since that time. Many women are now recovering from breast cancer in six months. However, Shane’s cancer is not typical.
Shane was diagnosed with Her2 positive cancer when she was originally diagnosed. There are many different types of breast cancer, with Her2 positive being the second most difficult to fight against. The most difficult breast cancer to treat is triple negative breast cancer. Even knowing how hard her battle would be, she just kept saying, at least it isn't triple negative.
A couple of months ago NIH discovered that the molecular structure of Shane's cancer had changed and she now has triple negative breast cancer. It has been devastating news for her, but she continues the fight. NIH had her starting new chemo therapies that will target this brand of cancer.
Shane remains strong and determined as she has been since this ordeal began. Her infectious smile and personality remain strong, but it has been an incredibly long fight. The entire oncology center lights up when she goes there, because she truly is interested in how everyone is doing and is not focused on herself.
Because Shane is so friendly, generous and fun-loving, she has a large circle of friends and family who are surrounding her with love and support. However, we need your help to help her.
All she asks is that we continue to pray for her and we do. However, we are also praying for help to ease her financial burden and lessen her stress.
I have set up this site on behalf of many who love her, and we ask your help to lighten her burden. Please donate if at all possible, so that Shane can focus her energy on getting healthy.
