Holden has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM based upon his academic achievements, potential and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
NYLF Explore STEM will provide Holden with first hand experiences in these fields, which are the fastest growing and most in-demand skills in the workplace. These fields will produce the next generation of innovators, doctors, scientists, software developers, and engineers, so it is critical that students are exposed to quality STEM education early in their academic careers.
The program curriculum brings STEM to life, in a way that no textbook can, as students plan for a “Mission to Mars.” Through guided field studies; interaction with a variety of STEM professionals, including former NASA astronauts; and using the latest technology to create solutions to help overcome the challenges associated with colonizing Mars, Holden will be able to try his future in STEM.
Holden will also create a personalized success plan to help him prepare for the academic challenges and career opportunities that lie ahead. Holden will leave the program more confident and better equipped to make informed decisions with regard to choosing the appropriate high school options and, eventually, the right University, college major, and career path.
For a little boy who has his heart set on achieving academic excellence, earning a PHD in Astronomy and eventually landing a career with NASA, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Unfortunately, this opportunity is beyond our means at this time.
Many students resort to fundraising efforts to support the tuition costs involved in attending this prestigious program, which is exactly what we need to do. Holden will be attending NYLF:Explore STEM at Emory University here in Atlanta. We have set up this account to support a boy whose dream can become a reality.
Family, friends, neighbors, friends of friends...please help us get Holden to Emory University. He is SO deserving of this opportunity.
