Tracey's Story: Brain Tumors Suck

My cousin, Tracey, as many of you know, has been living with a brain tumor for many years. She was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2006 and given 3-5 year life expectancy. Well, it has been over 12 years now that she has been fighting for herself and others and raising money and awareness for brain tumors ever since.
Tracey helped form the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance (CTBTA ) to provide support and raise money for patients, survivors and those impacted by brain tumors. She put a human face on the impact of medical marijuana on CBS Evening News to show benefits to her and other patients. Tracey is also a current member of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Oncology Board, installed as their Patient Advocate in 2016. In short, she has been fighting to improve quality of life for all cancer patients since her diagnosis.
Now, her fight is taking a toll on her. Her tumor has doubled in size in the past 3 months further reducing her quality of life. She has always prided herself on helping others, but now she is the one that needs help. Tracey needs more care than her husband Greg, family and friends can offer. Much of this cost is not covered by insurance. I am reaching out to my network to ask for help. The money raised will go directly to Tracey's care, everything from an aid to help her shower to massages to help ease the pressure from the tumor impacting her ability to walk. Asking for help is never easy, but with someone like Tracey, who will lend a hand to anyone, it is easy to do.
