Akua's Health Fund for NMDA
Donation protected
Akua Abrah, is a loving, caring and giving young lady. Her family moved from Ghana to the U.S. seeking a better education and lifestyle for Akua and her siblings. She has a degree from Tufts University and a master's of science degree from Case Western Reserve University. She is extremely brilliant and her passion to become a medical doctor was beginning to materialize until a terrible news gripped her fate.
In November 2014, Akua was diagnosed with Anti-NMDA receptor Encephalitis, a rare autoimmune medical condition that was discovered in 2007. She has been the third confirmed patient to be diagnosed with this medical disease. She was living a normal life until one day she fell ill and symptoms of memory disturbances, seizures and dystonia rendered her bed-ridden.
Her family is working very hard to make certain she recovers promptly to a healthier life, so she can return to accomplishing her life goals. We are asking for financial help to assist with cost of taking care of her. Our goal is $40,000 and we assure you, no amount of money is too little. We will update you all about her health as the days/weeks/months go by. Thank you all and please if you have any further questions or would like to wish her well please fell free to email--[email redacted].
Thank you so much.
