A cause I care about needs help

I was diagnosed in 2018 with a Pleomorphic Liposarcoma, which is a very rare form of sarcoma, which manifested itself through a large swelling on my right leg. This type of cancer is very aggressive, and was described as 'grade 4'.
Since then I had surgery at Leeds General Infirmary to remove it (described by the physician, Mr Ian Smith, as 'a beast', being the size of a small rugby ball). I received excellent care there by a marvellous team of people, and was then transferred to Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, near Hull, to have a course of radiotherapy, with equally caring staff. A particular mention to Dr. Barton and Dr. Bozas for their care and attention, and all the many staff who have cared for me, too many to mention individually, but all special people.
Later my sarcoma spread to my spine and lung, meaning more radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, which managed to bring things under some sort of control.
Sadly the sarcoma has spread further, and I have at least 5 outbreaks now, meaning more radiotherapy & chemotherapy, which will be another long, slow and painful process.
I am determined to get through this with the help of the oncology team at Castle Hill hospital, who are all so very professional and caring. Everyone makes me feel special, and looks after me so very well.
I am now trying to raise some much needed funds for cancer research & treatment at the hospital, because I know how much of a difference this will make to peoples lives, and to help find new effective treatments, and to support existing treatments.
Everyone with cancer goes through their own personal battle. I am very lucky in that I have a fantastically supportive husband, plus a caring family & wonderful friends, but many others are not so fortunate, and money raised will go towards helping people who don't have such a huge support network.
My battle is still like having a mountain to climb, but my intention is to kick the arse of this horrible disease that can affect anybody, anytime, without prejudice and so very unexpectedly.
Give as much, or as little as you can afford. It all helps.
