Tribe Rugby FC is the rugby club at McMinn County High School in Athens, TN. We were founded in 2010 on the mission " Tribe Rugby Football Club exists to promote integrity, responsibility, and leadership in the lives of young men and women through the sport of rugby." We consist of approximately 85 high school boys and girls. In our short existence we have won 2 girls state championships (plus twice state runner-up) and won 1 boys state championship (plus twice state runner-up)!
This February 11-15th we are looking to send our ladies team to compete in the Las Vegas Invitational Rugby tournament and 4 of our young men will be playing for the East Tenn SMAC All-Star team. This is a tremendous opportunity/undertaking for our club and these individual young men and ladies...
Opportunity: This will expose our players to scholarship college rugby programs as well as the HS All-American selectors/coaches and give our players the chance to play on the same pitch as the best players/teams in the country. Not to mention, this will be the first time some of our players will have ever been on a plane:)
Undertaking: This trip is very expensive and will only be possible by the support of our community, friends, and family. The estimated cost per player is approximately $900 (air fare, lodging, ground transportation, and tournament fees).
We need your support big or small to make this happen. We appreciate anything you can do!
Your donation can be directed toward an individual player or to the club to be dispersed to the players as needed.
We look forward to seeing this trip happen and giving our players an opportunity they will remember forever.
