Remembering Rene

On July 29th our brother Rene Hummel tragically lost his life. He was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend to many people. He was an older brother to us and some of our cousins as well. We looked up to him. Words cannot describe the pain of losing Rene. If you knew Rene, you knew that he suffered from schizophrenia the last three years of his life. He wasn't always fully there or able to function the way we could, but we know who he truly was deep down. He was loving, playful, selfless, encouraging, tech-savvy, fun and cared so much for the people closest to him. This is how we want to remember him. We are commemorating his life this coming Thursday with a funeral.
