Help Michael Beat an Aggressive Brain Tumor

Michael is a 28 year old young man, graduated from college with a bachelors degree in communication and media studies. He was last working as a Para at a public school. Michael was excellent in every sport he ever played. He is funny, energetic, caring, selfless and humble with a heart of gold. He is very close to his parents (Dominic & Marianna) and sister(Laura). This past year he moved in with the love of his life (Monica) ready to start a new chapter. 

However his life was drastically changed when he was diagnosed in July 2019 with a brain tumor. After the diagnosis, they tried radiation & chemotherapy. The tumor was deemed inoperable, but has shifted and is pressing on the part of the brain that controls speech and motor function which made surgery an option. In December 2019 he was scheduled for surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, but his platelets were too low to operate at the time. He received a platelet infusion. Because of his weakened condition his doctor decided to try a new chemo treatment & a clinical trial. Michael cannot be left alone, and insurance covers only three hours per day of aid assistance. His family (Dominic & Marianna Papandrea) are paying out of pocket to provide additional care. He lives in Brooklyn, and right now travels to NYU Hospital in Manhattan every three weeks for chemo. 

In addition, due to the extent of the illness, treatments and upcoming rehabilitation, the family has also incurred substantial out-of-pocket medical expenses, with much more to come.  As friends and family of Michael, our goal is to make this hardship a little easier on this amazing family. Love always wins and we believe in miracles.
