Move for Mental Health

Hi everyone, my names Lena and from Melbourne, Australia. I want to raise money for a cause that is well worth talking about and affecting millions of people right now. I have also created a challenge from the 7th September- 7th October #Moveformentalhealth which is 100km in 30 days, whether that's walk, run, swim or ride. Please feel fee to join and get your friends on board, I have created a group on Strava so anyone can join and we can share our success.

This year has been a pretty crazy year for most people around the world and many people have faced challenges whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally. I think we can all recall someone who has been effected by mental health, along with Covid-19 which has highlighted or emphasised certain things in people's lives. There are people suffering their own battle, people struggling with businesses, people in toxic living circumstances, people who recently had kids and people whose lives have changed dramatically with job loss. Let's normalise talking about mental health through creating a safe environment for everyone to share their experience.

There's many amazing organisations to raise awareness and support for mental health but I've chosen Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue's mission is to equip everyone in Australia with the knowledge and skills to achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age, gender, background and wherever they live. They give people the confidence to support those around them, and make anxiety, depression and suicide part of everyday conversations. As well as tackling stigma, prejudice and discrimination, They're breaking down the barriers that prevent people from speaking up and reaching out.

Mental health is about being cognitively, emotionally and socially healthy.

I'm raising money in aid of Beyond Blue and every donation will help no matter how small, even if its your $1 chocolate bar you purchase at the checkouts.
