Funeral Costs for Cody Motsenbocker

Cody Motsenbocker was an Army Veteran who proudly served his country after the 911 attacks. He had such high hopes once the Army accepted him. He wanted to say goodbye to Portage WI and make his family and friends proud. But, Cody was unprepared, as many many soldiers were back then. He served 2 very long tours in Afghanistan and he came home a very broken young man. As his sister, I can tell you, my family and I had done everything we could to help my brother. We had him petitioned twice, court ordered to treatment and to get some help. Nothing worked. My brother was honorably discharged from the Army and put on permanent disability. He spent the last years, and I mean YEARS, alone. Totally isolated from his friend and family. He was just incapable of functioning as an adult needs to, in order to just survive everyday life. He endured more than most could. I'm still very proud of my brother. And I will always know how hard he fought. He recently took his own life. A self inflicted gun shot wound. Less than 2 years after our brother Derek lost his battle with addiction. My parents are saying goodbye to 2 out of their 3 children. We have reached out to programs that are set up specifically for our American soldiers/veterans. But, nothing is being covered as far as funeral expenses. Cody hardly had enough money to survive week to week let alone any life insurance or compensation set up. And suicide is always treated differently than an accidental death. My mom wants to cremate Cody, as she did Derek. I just want to help my parents right now. And I've seen a lot of success on here. I sincerely Thank you in advanced for any help we get on here. I honestly don't expect much. I just know, anything will help right now. And more importantly please keep my family (especially my mom) in your prayers for now.
