Leukemia Fundraising

Three years ago, at the age of 64, my mother Rita Proctor was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Her treatment required 1 year of Chemotherapy and radiation, which she completed with grace and humor and eventually returned to work at RPA. Unfortunately, as a result of the extensive chemotherapy for breast cancer she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia the last week of August 2017. She was hospitalized September 3, 2017 and received extensive IP chemotherapy which required her to remain at Ruby Memorial until the 1st week of October. Thereafter, she acquired a bacterial infection on her left arm which required surgery and another 3 weeks in the hospital.
