Hi Everyone! I’m Izzie, a first generation micro-farmer and garden consultant in Northern Florida. I’m asking for your help in launching my business. I’m a full time student, full time farmer, and a new business entrepreneur!

Do you have $10 to contribute to help me get my feet on the ground and GROW? Every seed counts in planting towards a successful future.

Your contribution will allow me to continue to grow food for my local community,  spread awareness about mental health and healing, and share value-add products towards general well-being. I am in need of farming supplies and start up costs for my farm-business. Here is what you would be supporting:

+ Entrepreneurship of young, black, female farming
+ Supporting a full time student and small business
+ Allowing organic, locally grown produce in the community
+ In-home garden consulting
+ Mental health and healing for all ages
+ Micro-farming and local food communities

My passion is small scale sustainable farming, food justice, ethical living, mental health and healing through agriculture.  I started farming because I saw a need for a sustainable farm in the area where I live as well as I wanted to find healing with myself and the land.

I have been farming for one growing season  but have experience as a gardener for many years. While I have been farming, I experienced healing through working with agriculture, and difficulties with finances. Because of this experience, I want to share my produce and education and experiences with my community.

Business purchases and needs:
My FARM:

Drip irrigation -$1,000 - Drip irrigation is the method of watering I use here on the farm, it is a sustainable water method that only gives the crops water directly to the root. I need more to finish covering the field.

Compost Delivery - $1,000 - Compost is an essential part of an organic farm, since I need a big amount for the tunnel/greenhouse and the field next to it delivery is the only option.

Shade Cloth - $200 - Shade cloth is material we place in the tunnel to keep the plants from wilting/dying in the summertime, we need enough to cover the whole tunnel when spring comes.

Farm equipment - $1,000 - Pitch forks, weedblock, seedling trays, crates, buckets, and so much more equipment is needed, even a solar run fan for the greenhouse as it gets quite steamy in there during the summertime and it has no electricity.

My BUSINESS LAUNCH
Website -$500 - my yearly website fee currently is $212 which I currently cannot afford so I pay the  monthly fee of $16, along with the e-commerce fee. A website is an essential means of connecting with clients and selling produce from the farm.

Computer / Office Equipment -$2,500 - Right now I am working with a dinosaur Lenovo PC. That is slower than a 100 year old donkey, and for website/work purposes it would be amazing to upgrade to a newer computer that is compatible and works efficiently to help run the business smoothly.

Design and print - $1,500 Business cards, stickers, labels, access to Canva pro for proper branding and website designing.

Any and all contributions are so appreciated. From $5 to $50 dollars to a share on social media or email, I cannot thank you enough for supporting me. Your shares to your friends will not only spread awareness of my business, but also keep the conversation going about mental health, healing, and the benefits of agriculture. I truly believe I can help people through my work.

I am so motivated and excited for 2021 and I hope that you’ll join me in helping more people along the way.

Thank you so much for your support. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Adios,
Izzie
