It is with devastating hearts that we share that Iyan, my soon to be brother in law passed away on October 26, 2020, as a victim of gun violence. Iyan was shot at while heroically defending a store from an armed robbery. Iyan was an amazing son to his parents and was remembered by friends and colleagues as a man with a huge heart. An ambitious individual, Iyan left India years ago to pursue a degree in Business at the Metropolitan College of New York and was hopeful to run his own company one day. Iyan's mother who has not seen her son for 3 years since he left for his academics resides with his sister in an apartment in India. Iyan's father as a result of overseas employment has not seen his son for the last 6 years and is unable to attend the funeral due to financial hardship. Iyan's family relied on him for expenses and is in dire need of financial assistance to help with end of life costs and future expenses. We ask that you please consider helping out his loved ones through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without his presence. The individual who passed away used to be the sole supporter of his family who resides in India. This money will be sent to them so that they are able to use it to continue to afford basic life needs. The donations will be utilized towards costs for food, rent, utility bills, and other financial needs of the deceased's family.

As the intended recipients reside in India. I (Saniya Mansuri) will obtain the funds and then transfer the funds to the intended recipient's bank account using a money transfer platform such as Western Union. I have been authorized by his family to withdraw the money on their behalf and have the funds delivered to them outside of GoFundMe.
