That's the word the news used. "Displaced". Currently, I am in the southern hemisphere and no where near my mother or my sister. Even if I was, I am in no position to help. We have never been a materialistic family and we haven't exchanged gifts for birthdays or for Christmas in years. Actually, that's not true. Last year, I gave my mom a laptop that I got from a friend for free. The laptop was destroyed in the fire.

If nothing else, I would like to help my mom and sister acquire enough money to help them with payments for a new apartment. As the report states, the Red Cross assisted my family and gave them a hotel room for a few days. But no one knows where they will go after that.
