IVF Treatment and Surrogacy

Hello Everyone!

This is an update of our IVF Journey: our minds were set on Aspire Fertility Clinic since their clinic is in McAllen and the procedure would be done in San Antonio. Well... because I am a complicated case, Aspire Clinic could not treat or perform the IVF procedure.

During Spring Break, we were referred to a specialist in Houston - Dr. Huang at the Baylor College of Medicine. The doctor was very knowledgeable of my situation and after two appointments gave me a green light for the procedure.

We were thrilled with the news and excited to have reached a doctor that spoke OUR language - he knew everything about my dialysis treatment, the dextrose, the different color of bags, etc. The only problem was, he was going to "teach" in the months of April and May and would not be available for the procedure.

So we have been on standby on the whole IVF. Dr. Huang is requesting I stay in Houston for two weeks for the entirety of the IVF treatment. This will accure to the financial burden of the IVF treatment and surrogacy.

As many of you know, my job is year-round. I am an administrator for the school district and I literally only have two weeks off. With the support of my husband, family and friends, we will make this possible.

Esta es una actualización de nuestro viaje de FIV: nuestras mentes estaban puestas en Aspire Fertility Clinic ya que su clínica está en McAllen y el procedimiento se realizaría en San Antonio. Bueno... debido a que soy un caso complicado, Aspire Clinic no pudo tratar ni realizar el procedimiento de FIV.

Durante las vacaciones de primavera, nos remitieron a un especialista en Houston: el Dr. Huang del Baylor College of Medicine. El médico conocía muy bien mi situación y después de dos citas me dio luz verde para el procedimiento.

Estábamos emocionados con la noticia y emocionados de haber contactado con un médico que hablaba NUESTRO idioma: sabía todo sobre mi tratamiento de diálisis, la dextrosa, los diferentes colores de las bolsas, etc. El único problema era que iba a "enseñar" en los meses de abril y mayo y no estaría disponible para el trámite.

Así que hemos estado en espera durante toda la FIV. El Dr. Huang solicita que me quede en Houston durante dos semanas durante todo el tratamiento de FIV. A esto se sumará la carga financiera del tratamiento de FIV y la gestación subrogada.

Como muchos de ustedes saben, mi trabajo es todo el año. Soy administrador del distrito escolar y literalmente solo tengo dos semanas libres. Con el apoyo de mi esposo, familia y amigos, haremos esto posible.
