Ivan against Leukemia

On April of 2019, just this month, our 13 year old Ivan, creative and silly son, nephew, grandson, cousin, as he describes himself has been diagnosed with Type B Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Due to this diagnosis he has already gone through countless amounts of blood drawn, transfusions, multiple examinations, a bone marrow extraction, chemo, and lumbar puncture – these have been very long and extenuating days since the diagnosis and everything is happening so fast.
Alongside this diagnosis, there are precautions that must be followed.  Ivan needs to be in complete isolation of others (his close friends and family) during his chemo therapy – this is the result of avoiding the possibility of contamination of bacteria and viruses, any possible infection or sickness can be fatal.
Alongside him is his loving supportive mother and her husband.
To make sure he is in the best care, his mother, a school teacher must stop working to home-school and take care of him. Her husband, who works inside a warehouse with a multitude of possible contaminations must find a way to keep him safe and make ends meet to cover treatment expenses and compensate for the lost wages.
We know this will be a long process and the medical expenses will exceed the families economic capabilities, that is why we created this account.
