It has come time to build a new sanctuary

Have you ever wanted to be a part of something much bigger than yourself... Have you ever wanted to do something so wonderful that it will leave a mark in humanity? Then this is your opportunity. We are southern California's only domestic avian sanctuary and we need your help. We have been in existence for 7 years and have grown so exponentially in the last 2 years. When I started this project at my house with 10 ducks and a few birds, I had no idea how big the problem was. Most people have no idea that around 7 species of ducks are domestic and that they can not fly or have any type of defense mechanism. In fact they are just l Iike your average pet, that cannot survive in the wild. Here is the problem... people get these "pet" ducks and then they realize they are messy, noisy and require a lot of attention... the really sad thing is that they then dump them at public parks and lakes to either die of starvation or be killed by a predator. I receive calls almost everyday about another injured bird that has been dumped and is in need of medical attention and a permanent home to live the rest of their lives in peace with food and no longer fear of predators. So, here we come down to it.... I can no longer do this from my house and we need to build a beautiful and large sanctuary for this to happen. I now have to turn away all the calls I get about ducks being found at these parks and lakes with fishing hooks in their mouth and fishing line wrapped around its feet or neck. So. It all comes down to this... I need your help. I found a perfect 5 acre property that can become this dream, however since I have been doing this on my own for 7 years with the help of small donations, I have come here to appeal to all of you out here to help us make this dream a reality. I am now a 501c3, so this will be taken as a tax donation to a very special cause. All donations are so welcomed. I can answer any questions you have about building a new and amazing sanctuary for these poor animals that have been dumped like trash.
