We purchased the Opera House in December 2020. It was a lifelong dream come true to be able to take on the project of doing repairs and rehabilitating the building. Unfortunately prior to purchasing it and cleaning the basement out, we were not aware that an almost 70 foot concrete foundation wall in the back of the building was in bad disrepair and in need of immediate action. So many debris were in front of the wall that until they were removed, the damage was completely concealed. We are asking for any help you can give us to be able to get this project completed before the building is further damaged. Our ability to cover the cost of this project is limited due to the purchase of the building and other repairs expenses we’ve already taken on. We fear if we wait too long, collapse of the back of the building could happen, or at least severe damage. This isn’t just a home. It is a community center to be, just as soon as all the repairs and updates are completed to make it a safe place to again open the doors to everyone!! Thank you so much for your help! We realize that asking for donations seems iffy to some but we want you to be assured that your donation will go directly into the building preservation project and your name, if shared, will be added to our theatre plaque of generous donors who helped make sure this magnificent structure could continue to stand for years to come for generations to continue to appreciate!!
