Irresponsible Pet Owners Cause This

Called upon ONCE AGAIN, to "fix" a problem that is becoming "the norm."  The typical story..."We are selling the house and the cats CAN'T stay." And then I ask..."Well how many are you talking?"  I am never emotionally prepared for that answer but in this case...20+ cats who were once used to the hand that was feeding them... have now been stripped from their feeder and feeding pattern. These poor cats have started to scramble due to the noise of the clean up crew, theyare unsure of the large dumpsters set up on the property, and next comes all the cars for the estate sale. Their world has been turned upside down. Last week, half the colony was packed into carriers and taken away...not by me and I won't provide the details. What is now left are 20-23 vulnerable cats and kittens who are confused and frightened. Two have been hit/killed in the road this week. I said I would never organize such a big project again as 34 years of dedication to the humane network has taken its toll...but it's not easy to walk away!  Kind people around our county have offered safe havens for these cats, each however will need to be altered/vaccinated.
