Ironman - to raise money for Emma’s new start

I am hoping to complete an Ironman to raise money for Emma herself (this fundraiser) and a charity that has helped her along the way, Maggie's (fundraiser link here ).
I wanted to do something extremely difficult, to feel just a smidgen of the pain she has felt and help her to get the break she deserves and start to enjoy her life again.
Emma was diagnosed on 10th May 2019, age 24, with Low Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer, a very rare diagnosis for her age. She had to have an urgent operation to remove any cancerous tissue. This meant the loss of her reproductive organs and a lot of other abdominal tissue. Since then she has had 2 more major surgeries and in total 6 operations in her abdomen. Further tests have shown other complications for Emma and she is on a lot of medication to combat them.
Emma’s cancer is rare and is often hard to treat and completely cure. As such, Emma will be in treatment for potentially the rest of her life in a hope to keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible.
Even through all of this, she has managed to:
+Finally finish her Masters degree at Edinburgh University and get a FIRST
+Get accepted on to a PhD at Edinburgh University!!!
Basically she's amazing and (so cliché) but is such an inspiration, when life is totally kicking her down she can still achieve the hardest of goals. Unfortunately, her illness has delayed her education and her crucial mid-20’s beginning of a career and rinsed her savings. The future is still uncertain for Emma, but we all know she is so deserving of some good karma now. This is the reason I want to be able to send her away on a break with her Mam (who has been her absolute rock) or use it to help her get set up in a new life.
Any small donations/words of encouragement/tips on 'how to not die doing an Ironman' will all be received very gratefully.
