Raising money for Poppy Appeal

Howdy, my name is Chris Cope and this June I'll be taking part in the Royal British Legion Riders 1000 ride to help raise money for the Poppy Appeal. The ride is being run with the help of the UK branch of the Iron Butt Association, which means that the "1,000" mentioned in the name of the ride refers to the more than 1,000 miles I'll be trying to cover in less than 24 hours.

Is it silly to try to ride 1,000 miles in 24 hours? Yes. But it's an event that's helping to raise money for an incredibly good cause. If you live in the UK, you will already know about the Poppy Appeal and the positive effect it has on the lives of current and former British military personnel.
If you are from outside the UK, the Poppy Appeal is a charity initiative that raises funds throughout the year, culminating in the autumn when many Britons can be seen wearing distinctive paper poppies to show their support. (Learn more about the significance of the poppy here )
The Poppy Appeal is run by the Royal British Legion and its Riders Branch, who are partly organizing this ride. I have attended previous events held by the RBLRB and they are a great group of men and women.
As part of my entry in the event I've been asked to raise £50 toward the Poppy Appeal. I'll be throwing that in myself, but have set up this crowdfunding site in hopes of raising more. I chose GoFundMe because, to my knowledge, it has the lowest fees of such sites and I want the most money possible going to the Poppy Appeal.
I want to assure you, as well, that every penny earned through this site will go to the Poppy Appeal. Money spent on gas and food, etc., will come out of my pocket. So, despite this website's name, you won't actually be funding me at all. Your donation will go toward supporting the lives of British military personnel.
