As many of you know, our headquarters and stores in major markets were directly hit during Hurricane Irma and Maria. Many employees have lost their homes and are living on limited supplies. Our hearts go out to everyone affected and we hope for the strength to put lives back together again.
Since the storm hit, the safety of our employees was our very first priority. We have been evacuating employees from the damaged islands for the past few weeks. We have also shuttled supplies from the states to the affected islands and will continue to send as needed.
Everyone on the Little Switzerland team went above and beyond to help their fellow employees. We sent teams to their homes to do clean up and to recover personal items and we will continue to do the same.
The road to recovery will be a long and difficult one. Many of you in the unaffected areas have asked “what can I do?” The answer is simple. Continue to send your prayers and well wishes to all those involved. We have also setup a “gofundme” account to benefit our employees in affected islands. 100% of the proceeds will be distributed to our employees who need the funds to recover and rebuild.
We all need to be strong in order to rebuild. It will take time but we will recover and our team will come back stronger after this.
Be well and safe.
