Irma Garcia's Memorial Fund

Almost 2 decades ago, my mother Irma Garcia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. A terrible disease that progressively causes permanent nerve damage throughout the brain and spinal column. When she was diagnosed,  doctor's told her she wouldn't live past 10 years... she was heartbroken and in disbelief. But from the very beginning my mother was courageous...She was firmly determined to fight it all the way! She tried everything to beat the odds. Trying natural medicine and researching for alternatives. She, throughout it all, always maintained a fighting mentality! Determined to keep working to help provide for her two young boys alongside her supportive husband, she kept courageously adapting  to the gradual loss of her mobility as she went from crutches, to a walker, to a wheel chair, to becoming completely bed ridden and not able to move or talk.  Even then, she made it clear to us that she still was not giving up and wanted to stay with us as long as possible...and to the very end. Well, she "did" beat the odds...and fought a very long (nearly 20 years!) battle against MS,  but on Friday August 10th 2018...at 2:07 am, the lord put her to rest.  Aside from being a powerful testament of faith, courage, and inner strength... My mom was a very kind, loving and a charismatic person who always found a way to bring people together and bring them joy and laughter! She was a loving mother of two sons and a loving devoted wife.  I will miss her presence in the living room where she was always the center of attention! She kept everything intact. I will miss her deeply.
