Iris Mai Carter Against neuroblastoma

We would like to thank all of you for all of your support so far. We recently started fundraising for a vaccine in the US which we thought would reduce the chance of relapse. After recent meeting's with Iris's medical team and speaking to neuroblastoma charities, we now know this not to be true. There is no proof this treatment will reduce Iris's chance of relapsing in the future. As devastating as this news was to us we don't believe subjecting Iris to a further year of general anasthetic and treatment is in her best interests. We will be carrying on fundraising as normal but  it will be for Iris and her daily needs going forward and her rehabilitation after her UK treatment has ended. If anybody has any issues with our change in fundraising please pm the page and we will address this accordingly. Thanks again. ****On Saturday the 15th June 2019 our lives were torn apart. Iris had yellowing of the eyes lethargy and a lump in her neck. We attended North Tees urgent care on Saturday morning. A blood test and chest x-ray where performed. That started a whirlwind of events. We where transported by ambulance to the RVI on Sunday. Initially leukemia was suspected, however following another x-ray, ct scan, ultrasound and further bloods it was confirmed that our Beautiful daughter had neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. She had tumours in her neck, chest and abdomen and following a bone marrow retrieval, also her bones and marrow.
