Mayo Clinic and Medical Bills

Thanks for visiting this site!  Asking for help is extremely difficult for me and I appreciate your interest.

I have an immune system disorder called selective IgM deficiency which causes chronic infections, stomach issues, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, and joint problems.  Although I have dealt with this my entire life, the last few years have been unrelenting.

In June, I will be visiting the Arizona Mayo Clinic for consultations and surgery.  I have had internal bleeding for the last six years and have had numerous scopes to cauterize it.  None of them were successful, but the Mayo Clinic has the equipment needed.

My medical bills are overwhelming.  All money raised will help me pay for the following...

*recent and upcoming surgeries (four lately, several more scheduled)

*necessary medications (I have over twenty prescriptions)

*monthly penicillin shots and extra immunizations

*costs associated with the Mayo Clinic, including medical records

*charges for my frequent doctor visits (internal medicine, rheumatology, surgery, clinical immunology, infectious diseases, nephrology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, orthopedic surgery, hematology, and gastroenterology:to name a few!)

*procedures like biopsies, infusions, CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, scopes, and ultrasounds

*extra costs due to my severe allergic reactions during surgeries and procedures

*expensive specialized lab tests

*annual mammograms due to my mom's breast cancer (she was diagnosed in her 30s and passed away at age 44)

*medical supplies such as wrist braces and compression stockings

My husband, Paul, owns a landscaping company and works as a personal trainer.  I am in my fourteenth year of teaching first grade.  I usually tutor and teach reading classes during the summer, but I won't be able to this year.
