Tink's Sight Saved With Your Help!

Home To Stay Dog Rescue needs your help in our efforts to save Tink's vision and in providing extra care for dogs currently  in Rescue with us !  All donations are warmly welcomed; no matter what the amount. If each person who has liked HTSDR on Facebook kindly donated a small amount, Tink's care and our ability to help other dogs will not be hampered!                                  Since opening in November 2013, Home to Stay Dog Rescue has assisted over 70 dogs on their way to health and happiness. Each dog requires complete supplies, and medical care prior to adoption and we thank each and every one of our supporters for the time, monetary donations, and resouces that have been donated to us throughout the year.                                                                                   As the holidays approach, our budget has been severely depleted due to large unexpected veterinary costs associated with several of our dogs (including a compassionate case named Tommy who will be staying within our rescue – in foster care – for life). This has compromised our ability to bring in other needy dogs.
  Tink the handsome mature shih tzu came to us when his senior owner was no longer able to care for him. After 8 years with the same family it was an upsetting time for Tink, but with love and patience he has come out of his shell and has learned how to enjoy all of life. His skin issues are better, but we are currently in the process of treating his eyes so that he can be adopted and pain-free. Different medications, multiple rechecks, and even a trip to the specialist in Moncton have all been part of his treatment plan. Tink’s medical costs have already exceeded $2,000.00 and he may still require surgery prior to adoption.
Also, last month we received a wonderful and gentle lab mix named Jenny. Her kind heart has made her a favourite here at Home to Stay and we thought she’d be adopted in no time…but Jenny had a plan of her own and will be staying in foster care for a few months. We’ll be welcoming her litter around Christmas and giving them the very best start to the rest of their lives.
These are just three of the over 70 dogs we have taken in over the last year.                                                                          All dogs are UTD on preventative treatments, vaccinations, microchipped, spayed/neutered if age appropriate, and additional medical conditions treated. Typically our adoption fee does not cover our vetting and other costs associated with readying each dog in our care for adoption; and in the case of Tink and Jenny, that applies many times over!
