In Memory of Maria Fisher

As many of you know, Maria Fisher, an 18 year old Hempfield graduate and University of Maryland student was hit by a car while crossing the street at her college on the morning of October 1st, 2017, and tragically passed away.  As a close friend of Maria's, I can honestly say that the world lost one of the sweetest, brightest, most beautiful souls. Maria could always make you smile even on the worst days, and she was always there if you needed a friend. She was an amazingly talented singer and musician, played soccer for Hempfield High School, skiied with me and many of our friends in the Hempfield Ski and Snowboard club for years, and was very actively involved in school, but most importantly she was an amazing person and friend. In memory of her musical talents and her love of theatre, Hempfield High School is creating a scholarship for arts and music. Maria played soccer for Penn Legacy for years, and they will also be will also be awarding a Penn Legacy player a scholarship in memory of her. This page was created so that anyone from the Hempfield or UMD communities, or anyone who feels inclined, can donate towards the Hempfield High School scholarship fund, in memory of a beautiful person, inside and out.
