Funeral Services for Emmanuel
It is with great weight in our hearts we must say goodbye to a great man, Emmanuel H Iordanoglou. Emmanuel fought against prostate cancer for five years, and early Sunday morning went peacefully into the afterlife with his family by his side. But he was more than a great man, he was a father, a husband, a dear friend, he was, as he’d say, a funny guy. Throughout his life, he brought warmth to our hearts and weight into our words. He showed us how to be strong when we must, and weak when we need to. He filled our hearts with music, his music, the sounds of his spirit. All in hopes we may carry on. Push on, as we must, to fight for the people we love. To fight for our happiness without them, if not for ourselves for them, for all they stood for.
It is a strange thing to lose someone dear, to suddenly be forced to live one’s life in a different way. A beautiful family is forced now to do so. But to be forced is not to be unwilling, and to be unwilling is not to be unable. For as we move forward from this sad day, we bring with us many happy days. We carry the little moments that defined the life and spirit of Manoli. His laugh, his smile, his tears, his willingness to push on, to fight, and to stand for love. We carry these things forward with a heavy heart. Heavy with the weight of love, his love for his family, his friends, and the world around him. We must move forward from this painful loss. But we do so with great joy, we do so honored, honored to have been gifted with the life of this beautiful soul. Honored that God gave us all he did in the spirit of Manoli. We move forward with a smile on our face, because it is not pain we carry, nor loss that we feel, but love, a great big song of love. A song that builds up and winds down, with solos, duets, and a heartwarming chorus. A song that never ends. That stands for everything we stand for. A song for what Manoli stood for.
The viewing for Manoli will be held Wednesday, March 7 (2-4pm 6-8pm) at Joseph A. Scarano Presidential Circle, 4351 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, FL. Thursday, March 8 10:30 am there will be a service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 425 N 58th Ave in Hollywood, FL. From there we will be heading to Forest Lawn Cemetery, 200 W Copans Road, for the burial service.
It was Manoli's last wish that he may be buried in the Greek tradition, with his family and friends present, celebrating his long and wonderful life.
We have nearly covered the funeral expenses. We ask that you find it in your hearts to help us. We only have a little left to go, and any contribution at all would mean the world to us and Emmanuel.
