Ink Aspiration: Helping with Mr. E's Tattoo Dream

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I'm reaching out on behalf of my friend, Mr. E, who, at (almost) 42, is embarking on a transformative journey. A few years ago, a foot injury forced him to leave his career as an ironworker. This setback led to the discovery of his passion for tattooing, a craft that has since captured his heart. Now, he is pursuing his dream of becoming a skilled tattoo artist with the ultimate goal of opening his own tattoo shop. He's left his South Carolina home for New York, a vibrant hub of art and creativity. But to achieve his dream, he needs support.

Opening a tattoo shop involves significant costs, and he has already taken steps toward it, like doing a lot of research, buying supplies, and getting certifications, but he also needs to hone his craft. This involves attending a tattoo school that includes apprenticeship, the cost of which is $5000. The tuition is especially challenging for anyone, let alone someone starting anew at (practically) forty-two.

That's why we've launched this GoFundMe campaign—because Mr. E is the type of person that, even when he had nothing, gave a man he barely knows, $200 to help him get off the streets and get home. He has also taken numerous people into his home because they needed a place to stay for a while, and yet, it is extremely difficult for him to ask for help himself. We are asking for anything you can spare to help him cover the cost of his education and take vital steps toward opening his shop.
