Infusions of Hope for Michael

I am trying to raise money to help with Ketamine Infusions .  What is ketamine infusions?  It is a treatment that is used to treat pain and depression.  In my case, I am seeking help with pain.  Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover it yet.  My doctor is one of the leading researchers on its, and has had lots of success with it.  Each treatment costs about $500 and a treatment lasts anywhere from 1-6 months depending on the person.

My Story:

I have lived with pain at least since I was a teenager.  Constant headaches, and pain in my ankles and back.  They all addressed it as growing pains.  As I grew though, the pain never stopped.  As I went through life, and had things happen that weakened me, the pain started getting worse.  I would get headaches so bad I would throw up.  I couldn't function.  The only relief I found was to take ibuprofen, and warm bath soaks.

Finally I found  a solution.  Thanks to me getting health insurance, I was able to tackle this hard.  After seeing many doctors, I found the problem, and a solution.  It turned out that my pain was caused by joint hypermobility.  With this new information, we were able to tackle the problem directly.  The only way to "cure" this is to strengthen your body so your muscles can support your joints better, and have less fatigue.  Weekly physical therapy visits to mobilize joints and treat muscles, as well as exercising to strengthen the muscles to help support my body.

This worked for a while.  I was feeling fine, and working.  Eventually though, I was diagnosed with brain cancer.  With the cancer came chemo, and with the chemo came hell to my body including weakening and depression.  As a result of this, my pain got worse, and worse to where I could no longer work.

Currently I am attempting to get my life back to normal.  I am on disability to reduce the stress on my body.  My house is a mess, and I hardly cook because of my pain from doing something as simple as standing.  We have found solutions for that.  However, I want to be better!  I want to support myself, and live an independent life.  I wish to be "normal".

My hope is that these infusions will help.  As mentioned above, each infusion is $500.  There is no telling how often I will need them, though typically an infusion helps for 1-6 months.  I would like to raise as much as I can to support these infusion.  Every bit helps.
