Infant Playground Improvements

Tax deductible
We have been asked to raise some money for new playground equipment for the Infant Playground such as crates, planks and wooden boxes. The target is £400, which could be increased to £500 with government money if you gift aid any donations!

A Brookfield Teacher writes:
"My experience as a teacher has demonstrated to me how good playtimes can help children return to the classroom happier and ready to learn. It can also reduce behavioural problems and prevent issues at playtime from spilling over into valuable classroom time."

We are raising money to buy what is called "Loose parts".

What are Loose Parts?
Loose parts play describes any materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, taken apart and put back together in multiple ways. Loose parts can be used alone or combined with other materials. There is no set of specific directions for materials considered loose parts. Classic loose parts include milk crates, guttering, hose, tyres, sliced tree stumps, logs and sticks. I have used more inventive items: old suitcases, pots and pans, an old saddle, and prams.
Loose parts provide children with the raw materials to engage with playtime more productively and satisfactorily. This inevitably leads to a better experience for all children at school.
