Indo's Surgery

Tax deductible
INDO is an EXTREMELY SWEET AND GENTLE DOG who needs emergency veterinary care.

Indo has an appointment tomorrow (February 24) at 11:45 at Central Florida Animal Hospital in Oviedo for his initial exam. After the exam, the CFAH vet will call BluePearl Specialty & Emergency Pet Hospital to schedule emergency surgery.

Please feel free to call each vet to verify Indo's appointments and treatments before donating.

Background information:
For years, many of us living and working in Oviedo have seen the homeless man (Chad) and his dog (Indo) at the intersection of Red Bug Lake and Oviedo Mall Blvd.  Many of us have helped Chad and Indo by giving money, dog food, water, etc.
Two days ago, I saw a post on Facebook about the well known  'homeless man's dog limping and needing medical attention," so I decided to go down to his street corner today to introduce myself.
Both Chad and Indo were extremely polite and hospitable. When Indo tried to walk over to me he fell. He could not put weight on his front right leg and it was very apparent that his leg is seriously injured--  Chad thinks Indo's  scapula is detached.

I explained to Chad that I wanted to help and already had appointment for Indo at my dog's vet for tomorrow morning.  He started crying and thanking me and apologetically stated that he doesn't have the money to pay for Indo's surgery.
I told him not to worry and that I would do a fundraiser to pay for everything Indo needs because there is a group of wonderful, compassionate, generous, animal loving people that I know that will make sure Indo receives the care he needs.

Throughout our 30 minute conversation, not once did Chad ask for anything for himself.  He kept repeating that animals are better than people and that every animal deserves to be loved as much as he loves Indo.

While I was sitting in the grass under an oak tree, petting and loving on Indo, I said to Chad,  "Come over here in the shade with us, it's too hot for you in that sun today."  He said that he couldn't step foot in the grass because the adjacent Jared's jewelry store had filed a NO TRESSPASS ORDER  and he will be arrested if he steps off the sidewalk.

Soooo....I went and talked to Jared's extremely nice and caring employee, explained the situation and she said she would not call the police on him for being in the shade with his dog and she was very happy to see that his dog was going to receive much needed medical attention.

Chad and I exchanged cell phone numbers, talked about life, hopes and dreams.
I shook Chad's hand,  hugged Indo goodbye and immediately got on the phone with Blue Pearl to explain the situation.

HUGE THANKS to Blue Pearl and Central Florida Animal Hospital--they were both booked solid tomorrow, but are making room to see Indo.

Thanking everyone in advance for your generosity and compassion and for donating whatever you can to help the sweet gentle soul named Indo.
