Hello lovelies!
My name is Indigo and I’m a 24 yo trans girl from Brazil living in Glasgow. I started my transition around 2 years ago and I’ve been medically transitioning for 7 months now. Hormones have given me a lot of euphoria, but I still experience quite a bit of dysphoria when it comes to my facial bone structure. Thus, I’ve decided to get a Facial Feminisation Surgery which I know is going to be very beneficial for my mental health!
As an international student I get no financial support from the government or my family and I’ve been self-financing throughout my course. I’m on my third year of University and working full time as well as studying has been getting harder and harder every year. I was able to go privately for hormones as I’ve been on the NHS waiting list for over 2 years and I was told it was going to take another year until I saw someone for the first time. I’ve also been able to pay for my laser hair removal this past year. But saving for surgery is a bit harder than those other steps I’ve already taken towards my own happiness.
I’ve already had a consultation with the Facial Team clinic in Brazil and my goal is to get this surgery done next summer. The amount of £6000 will help me pay for the whole surgery amount. I’ve been saving some money, which I’ll use for pre-op tests, medications after surgery, flights to Brazil and back, and rent when I’m away. But I am still a long way from my goal. So, I would really appreciate if you folks could help me out!
