In support of Sandra Statt

I need your help raising funds for my friend Sandra Statt! Sandra had a fall while we were biking earlier this summer resulting in a spinal cord injury and is now requiring a wheelchair to mobilize. As you can imagine, this has turned her world upside down.

What are the funds for? 
This summer has been full of changes and in-hospital physical therapy. Sandra hopes to return home with her husband Rick soon and then to get back to her role as a nursing educator as quickly as possible. However, in order to get back to home and work, there has to be significant vehicle and house modifications done. The current house adaptations are a temporary solution until a "barrier free" (wheelchair accessible) home can be built for Rick and Sandra to live in with their beloved dogs Cleo and Shelby.

I want the funds raised from this campaign to help Sandra regain her independence. In addition to the house and vehicle modifications, there are multiple other costs arising including purchasing the right wheelchair, continued regular physical therapy, and other medical supplies. The funds will be used as needed for Sandra and her husband as they navigate these new waters. 

As a mountain biker, Sandra expertly taught many riders new to the sport and is an inspiration among the biking community. As a nurse, Sandra has made a career of caring for people every day and helping other nurses reach their potential. Now the tables have turned and she needs our help!
